Petrichor, Quadraphonic Performance Live at Campo Base

MUSICPERFORMANCEMODULAREURORACKQUADRAPHONIC

Petrichor (/ˈpɛtrɪkɔːr/) is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Greek petra (πέτρα), "rock", or petros (πέτρος), "stone", and īchōr (ἰχώρ), the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology.

Petrichor is a quadraphonic ambient composition.

It starts with a field recordings of a summer thunderstorm. Then an drone sets the fundation for the development of the piece by suporting the main melody.
The composition is entirely done live with an eurorack modular system in a deconsacrated chuch set up as a secret garden (Giardino Segreto by Sara Scanderebech). The PA speakers are designed by Futura Research.
